Makeup Artist Brisbane

It’s not everyday you go to work and are greeted by a friendly green frog and teddy bear! The Fabulous Lemon Drops have been one of my regular clients for the last couple of years and are an absolute delight. – Dez and Vanessa Staunton perform as a musical duo and are very talented children’s music entertainers who provide fun, educational, musical entertainment for children. Their catchy, original songs and audience participation is clearly a winner with the kids.

They were kind enough to give me a copy of their DVD last time I was there and my children are massive fans – Watch out Wiggles!! Many of my jobs have been at ‘Angel Studios’ located at Archerfield and they are always very accommodating – providing appropriate lighting and a comfortable atmosphere.

With Dez’s performance make-up, and with most male make-up – I like to really show facial definition. I achieve this by using a ‘Highlighting and Contouring’ technique. I use makeup to highlight certain areas of the male’s face and redefine others – giving a sharp, chiseled and masculine finish. Dez already has very defined features and I really wanted to bring them out – A stand out jaw bone and extra defined cheekbones will always help in film and photography as bright studio lights can tend to lighten these features.

I used similar highlighting and contouring techniques with Vanessa’s performance make-up and a long wear foundation to last. The fabulous Lemon drops’s performance’s can be energetic and upbeat and I needed to apply a foundation that was going to last especially under the harsh studio lighting. A good powder was also crucial to set the foundation and to extend the wear. I applied lashes and purple shimmer dust over Vanessa’s smokey eyes for a bit of fun – after all that is what they are all about! Vanessa had already lovely shaped eyebrows so I just added a bit of color to them with a long lasting eyebrow pencil applied to an angular brush for a natural look. I added color to her brows to help balance her brows and eye make-up.

As a mobile makeup artist in Brisbane I have had the privilege of being a part of some pretty big events in people’s lives. It’s very exciting and rewarding for me to be among the excitement of your big day and create the perfect makeup look for you.

I completed my training at the Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy 7 years ago and have been busy ever since as a freelance makeup artist. I especially love doing wedding makeup! It’s the most important day in a girl’s life and having the right makeup application is a must.
